With three sessions of contact rugby behind them, the U9s began match style rugby today with a mini tournament. 6 teams of 6 a side played on smaller pitches in an attempt to ensure all the players saw plenty of action whilst making the games as safe and enjoyable as possible.
Some players that have been around for a while as well as some of the new guys really stepped up. Sammy Brotherston, Jacob Pickles, Mason Crank and Jack Beatty amongst others all made a mark and after a quiet start to the season, George Perkins showed he will annoy many opposing teams again this year.
Well done to the "Jack Hammers" and the "Bull Dozers" who contested the final.
Thanks to Big Jon and Scotty for the refereeing and to all the coaches as usual.
Lastly, thank you to the 26 adults and the 26 kids who stayed for a splendid Sunday lunch at the club.
