Pad has given many great years service in a variety of roles and will be very much missed by the other directors and leaders at Bradwall Road. His range of roles over the years has been quite remarkable and grown alongside the time he’s spent at Sandbach always being prepared to roll up his sleeves and get involved.

He has rarely missed a game, either home or away, for many years and is very much respected by players and other club members for his sporting views, balanced thoughts, ability to calmly evaluate and support the resolution of problems. He could also just talk to anybody and be one of the ever present figures around Sandbach RUFC. After such a long stint he has decided to slow down a bit and take a little time away from club involvement while wishing us every success both on and off the filed. The directors, while disappointed, wish to respect his decision and understand his reasons for his resignation and will continue to stay in contact with him.

We very much look forward to seeing him around the club again shortly once he’s had time to recharge his batteries. In the meantime I’m sure his family are appreciating having him around a little more and having rugby relegated to a back seat for a change while he reacquaints himself with some of his many other interests that may not have had their fair share of time over the last few years. His energy dedication, straight forward nature and drive will certainly be missed. As a volunteer he leaves a large hole to fill and in time we would love to have him back in some capacity that suits him. Thank you for all you did for the club Pad.

For continuity the operating roles Pad has been covering have been split between others on a prioritised basis of what needs to be covered while we look longer term at how these roles can be picked up by other volunteers. The role of President is one we are keen to fill as soon as possible as a figure head role. More to follow on this shortly.
